There is so much bad information about what it actually costs to take a Disney vacation – we want to be transparent and data-driven to help you make the best decisions for you and your trip. You can contribute by sharing your own Disney Dollar Diary.
What is a Disney Dollar Diary?
You keep track of all your vacation spending from pre-planning to your arrival back home. Submit it to us and we will anonymize it and share it on our site to help other people plan their own vacations.
How is this different from a trip report?
We really want to concentrate on your spending. Your dining reviews, thoughts on your hotel, and childhood memories of your first monorail ride are no doubt very fascinating, but the Dollar Diary isn’t the place for them. Have you seen our forums?
Do you really pay me for this?
Yes, if we choose your submission for publication, we will pay you in the form of a gift card and a free subscription to TouringPlans.
How long will it take me to write this up?
Longer than you think! Beyond simply keeping track of your spending, allow a few hours to write up your experience.
What’s the best way to keep track of things?
It’s easiest to track your spending at least daily if not as you spend. A Google Sheet that you can access from anywhere may be convenient for you.
Is it really private?
Definitely. We will not share any identifying information about you or your family.
Will readers talk about my choices or judge me?
It’s very likely. Comments sections can catch fire. You may feel the need to reply using a pseudonym and we encourage you to do so – just bring your fire-proof pants.
OK I’m in.
